The Periodic Table Printable: A Valuable Resource for High School Chemistry Students

As a high school chemistry teacher, finding engaging and interactive resources for students can be a challenging task. Recently, I stumbled upon an innovative online tool that allows students to create their own periodic tables. This customizable resource is perfect for students who want to delve deeper into the world of chemistry.

The California Department of Education recently published a set of equations and constants as a resource for the new CAST (California Science Test). In response, I decided to retire our old CA State table and replace it with this new, interactive tool. With this software, students can create their own periodic tables, complete with atomic mass, electron configuration, density, boiling point, and freezing point.

One of the most impressive features of this online tool is its level of customization. Students can choose from a range of color schemes, data displays, and even add a logo to their table. This allows them to make their project truly unique and personalized.

I have linked to two separate 'Build Your Own Table' websites, each offering a wealth of customization options. If the file does not reside on my server, users will be directed to a page where they can download the table. It's worth noting that only seven of these tables are my creation, with all rights retained by the original authors.

To access the downloadable PDF files, simply click on the element symbol. The quality of the results will depend on the quality of your printer, and some tables may require color to retain their appearance. Each table will print on a single 8½ x 11 page.

For those who are new to this resource, it's worth noting that the program can be downloaded from the Adobe Website. To view and print these files, users will need to install the free Adobe Acrobat Reader program on their computer. Unless otherwise indicated, all tables are in Acrobat PDF format.
